Since 1998 the most colourful event in the world was happening in Carinthia, the wonderful south of Austria. The festival has a very long tradition and represents the modern bodypainting art movement. Artists from 47 nations participated in this years 17th edition of the World Bodypainting Festival - the championships for bodypainters in various categories such as 'Brush and Sponge', 'Airbrush' and 'Special Effects'. The artists had to visually interpret two themes, 'Pop Art - the art of popular culture' and 'AI - Artificial Intelligence'. Visitors, artists and spectators alike were stunned by all of the colorful results and also greatly entertained by lots of performances on stage. The venue is situated on a peninsula in the middle of Pörtschach and framed picturesquely by the turquoise lake Wörthersee. (All Photos created by HALO-Photographs)
