The Wave at Coyote Buttes, Paria Canyon and Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness area - The Coyote Buttes were formed mainly through the power of eroding winds. Wind brought in the layers of sand of various colors, later these layers petrified and now are eroded by wind again.
An amazingly special place worthwile visiting. Access is limited to 20 persons a day. A hiking permit is required. Inquire at the Ranger Station.
